Dr. Colleen Countryman strives to provide students with many valuable resources for learning physics.
- MyTech: Students can use their own personal smartphones to collect experimental data in their introductory mechanics labs. She has worked with NC State’s DELTA to develop an app based around students’ feedback.
- Mathcasts: Students often struggle with application of mathematical tools to physical problems. In an effort to curb this, Dr. Countryman worked with Dr. Hong Wang (NC State) to develop and asses the impact of a series of brief, Khan Academy-style YouTube videos.
- Reading Quizzes: To ensure preparation for their introductory physics courses, Dr. Lili Cui and Dr. Countryman have created and assessed a series of weekly online reading quizzes for introductory physics courses.
